It is so hard to believe it has been three weeks already since having Merci. The days and weeks seem to fly by.
Today we had a visit from a nurse, complimentary of the county. I must say it was great because I did have a few questions, mainly breastfeeding questions. The nurse was young, around my age I'd say. Camden immediately began flirting. It was really cute and the nurse, Erica, got the biggest kick out of it. While here, she asked me a few questions as well as went over all my questions with me. She then took Merci's temp and weight (7 pds. 8 oz.) as well as listened to her chest and belly for normal breath and bowel sounds. She said that everything looked great and she seemed to be right with were she should be. She did seem a little surprised that her weight was the same as the Dr. said on Friday. She reassured me it was nothing to worry about that she would start really putting on the weight now that she has a good feeding schedule. I am really happy to know that we are doing the whole nursing thing correctly and that she is benefiting from it.
Well, that is about as much of an update as I have for now. I will try to post some new pics soon. Until then....

Both of our kids are growing like little weeds! Camden will have his official birthday in just two weeks. It is so very hard for me to believe that he will be three. It's also very hard for me to believe that Merci is two and half weeks old already. She is such a pretty baby!!
I took Merci in for her check in with the Dr. yesterday. Last Friday she was still only 6 pds. 13 oz and he wanted another weight check yesterday. After messing around with a young nurse who didn't have a clue as to what she was doing, the Dr. came in and checked her weight. She is now up to 7 pds. 8 oz. The Dr. seemed impressed with her weight gain and said whatever we are doing to keep doing it. He also said he can still see some jaundice in her but that it is clearing up. He said that breastfed babies tend to hang on to jaundice longer than bottle fed babies. I told him I thought she looked better than last week and he agreed. She is due to go back in two weeks for her one month check-up. Camden was actually do for his three year check-up at the same time so we got him too. Both kids will go in on Friday the 27th. It's nice that I was able to do that, saves me the extra trip.
Well, the kids Papa (my Dad) is due to be stopping in very soon, so I should go. Check back soon for pictures of both kids and our pumpkin carving that we are going to be doing tonight. Our love to all.

Our lil' kiddz are doing great!! Camden is adjusting to having a baby sister like any great big brother would. He is constantly offering his help, even when not needed. He is just a sweetie! Merci, too is adjusting wonderfully. Our nights are still a bit shaky, but we get through somehow still getting about 5-6 hours of sleep (total). I am so happy that breastfeeding is going great! Merci has done so well and I give her all the credit for it going as well as it is. She is waking on her own, both day and night, every 2-3 on the nose. She eats so well it still amazes me.
We did take Merci in on Friday for a "well-baby checkup" with Dr. Ucchino, our family doctor. Her weight is 6 pds. 14 oz. and her length, of course, was the same. The Dr. does want to see her again this week just to do another weight check. I believe it's because she's not back up to her birth weight yet. He also said she is jaundice but wasn't concerned about it. He told us as long as she was eating well and having both messy and wet diapers, it would run it's course. I think she looks better each day and her color is much more clear. I think she will be above and maybe a little beyond her birth weight by the next appointment.
So there is our brief update for now. I am sure we will have lot more to tell at a later time. Until then, so long from our clan to yours.
